Basics of Electrical Engineering 1 is the first title in a series of 23 digital learning programmes from the BFE, which is widely regarded as the standard work in electrical engineering and information technology. Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering 1 can be used in initial training and further education, or to refresh knowledge for use in everyday working life. Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering consists of three parts (Part 2, Part 3).

All learning content is conveyed via audio narration to avoid having to read long texts on the screen. However, key points, important formulas, summaries, and exercises are also displayed as screen texts. Numerous animations, videos, and interactive elements in the learning software are designed to enhance the learning effect. Quizzes are included both during the teaching of material and at the end of each learning step. The program responds to each answer given by the learner during an exercise with appropriate feedback.
